“We Weren’t Here” – A joint exhibition of Joseph Leung and Andy Li

‘We Weren’t Here’ is a joint exhibition of artist Joseph Leung and Andy Li who have both recently studied overseas and returned. With similar background, Leung and Li manifest their sentiments and thoughts regarding their foreign experiences through the use of photography, moving images and found objects.

Often with a minimalistic approach, Joseph Leung Mong investigates the relationship between daily contemplation and spirituality. Through simple narratives, Leung wishes to offer audiences moments of respite and ultimately, introspection.

Using camera-based media, Andy Li San Kit contemplates the potential of images as an extension of interpersonal relationship. He considers his work as emotionally direct and affective where his visual poetries often take forms through musings and subsequently, mumbles.

「我們那時不在」是藝術家梁望琛和李新傑的一個聯合展覽。同樣曾在海外留學及
後回港,兩位藝術家希望通過運用相片,影像和現成物來呈現他們在外國時的經歷和想法。

梁望琛透過簡約的形式探討日常生活與靈性之間的關係。利用簡單的敘述,梁希望為觀眾提供歇息的空間,同時一些沉思的機會。
李新傑運用攝影,思考影像對人際關係的延伸性。李的作品可視為將詩意加進攝影的一種探索,也可以視為某種喃喃自語。
