Some works are to be sensed rather than comprehended… Winnie Yan finds a natural connection with Jess Lau and Kin-choi Lam’s duet — with their art pieces as much as the two individuals. …能找到兩位同伴會默默地感受一場雨…絕不容易。

小時候的我曾經是一只樹熊，好日不出門，出門的時候雙手抱著媽媽的右腳，頭一直貼著她的大腿，跟親友打招呼都是透過褲管邊窄小的空間。

「真想小時候的我會看到。」這是初時在網絡平台看 Jess（劉清華）和建才的插畫時都有的想法，那時候還未認識他們，以為是同一個人的作品，但因不同題材以分開了兩個專頁。雖然這樣說可能有點嘔心，但他倆都是很溫暖的大人，就像會於中午從窗簾邊照料角落的盆栽的那扇光一樣，不刺眼，不熾熱，剛好。

第一次看 Jess 的作品是她的畢業作品，叫<消失之中>，是一個雙螢幕並列的動畫裝置。乍看覺得是很機械性的一筆一筆把觀塘的一處街景畫了出來，續漸看到畫面是很有意識的把這一小處景色再細分作一個個小區，大廈，街巿，貨車，由早晨的陽光到夜晚的日落。還記得作品差不多結尾的時候，一處的街燈正在照亮著一個小角落，不知為何那刻就在想「這個師姐大概會寫詩的吧」，然後又真的出現了一首詩。不過心情好糾結，可能是詩詞所選的字型好有個性，但大多是基於我十分自私的盯著看一面的螢幕而忘卻另一面。直到第二次在另一個展覽再看到這件作品，螢幕尺寸細小了很多，兩個黑白色的畫面，灰階對比度和亮度令顏色更濃烈，螢幕中的碳筆與現實比例變得更接近了，真的像有一枝脆弱的碳筆於那小型的白燈箱裏忘我地在跳動。最後一次在另外一個地方看，她的作品得獎了，這個版本好像沒有最後的那篇詩，又看了好幾遍。

建才的作品大多都透過網上看到，主要是插畫。他畫的東西總是好細小的停留在畫紙的一處，好像一直等待一兩只小蟻來客串。社交網絡的插圖顏色都十分鮮豔，他的卻是一大片淡黃色，線條略帶輕微的抖動，外在浮動的留白與內在標示著呼吸流動的線，繪畫的場景卻是一閃即逝的瞬間。最深刻的是那幅描繪一對戀人在坐韆鞦時想牽手，兩只手會不會在下秒鐘擦過呢？不確定，但本來會我眼中擦過的一剎那在這紙上的空間卻靜止了。四周的風景都變得不重要，手的距離卻格外顯眼，畫面上的這一刻雙手是觸不到，但「很想觸碰對方的手」的這種意味卻強烈的表露出來，那怕只可能會擦過一秒鐘。有時候我就坐在電腦熒幕點開他的作品發呆，空白的上下左右位置沒有充斥著文字，描述裏沒有一堆感人熱血之言，也沒有追求點讚分享認同的渲染，作品就如在空氣層中飄浮的一顆小汽球，時近時遠。

還記得在據點初次見面的時候，Jess 比想像中熱情，建才倒比作品更輕柔，與自己腦海中的印象不太一樣。直到後來因為討論看村上春樹小說的次序，才擺脫自己怕生所引致的各種靦腆。現在站在他們身旁，不經意就會有一種不需要勉強說話的氣氛，就像他倆的作品，沒錯它們都儲藏著一點點想法，但不用太竭力設法去尋找它，而是像調舊式收音機般，碰到相應的就能聽到，太快自然錯過。

小時候的自己比現在好像更有會劃分小宇宙的能力，有著用不完的時間，可以花一整個下午舉行小龜三項鐵人賽，儘管最後因嚴重超時而告終。現在周圍的環境好像變得更容不下猶豫，總是急速地在轉動，停頓仿彿成為了一種奢侈。他們的作品都帶點日常生活的觀察，把自身對各樣會逝去的生命源以微小跳動表達出來，如下雨後停留在窗框的一泡水，慢慢在窗面上向著不同方向流行。

望出窗外的風景會因那微薄的水痕而變動，或多或少。秋風徐徐，香港轉天氣的期間下雨天並不罕有，但能找到兩位同伴會默默地感受一場雨卻絕不容易。

Her works focus on visual motifs and repetitions by means of drawing, writing and video recording. Being a part of Floating Projects Collective and Moving Moving Images, she collaborates with her fellows and, by happy chance, got exhibited in some locations. Yan had been a research associate in School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. She is an active artists, and her videographic works have been shown in various events locally and overseas.
